genuinely believing that a network went to all the head-scratching lengths ppl have posited to 'censor' a gay love story, and then cover that up, is not any less bonkers that believing in a secret hidden episode. it's just a different speed of it.

this is doubly bonkers considering all the gay characters that network has in it's other shows. but apparently we're supposed to ignore that and demand 'justice' for a pair of dudes who were never written as romantic in the first place?

It's not as bonker as it sounds, even if I'm still taking all that with a big grain of salt. The issue there is that there're already have been proven (by scripts, by cast and/or crew interviews...) instances of scenes/bit of dialogues/script directions with very strong romantic undertones between Dean and Castiel that were cut throughout the show. Jensen also said himself that a big chunk of his reaction to Cas'confession and death, which was a lot more emotive than what we got, was cut. Him filming the uncut confession/death scene on his phone is something he said himself, not something the fans said. There're other stuffs that don't add up. I don't know what it was all about, but I understand why it would raise some suspicions. #They silenced you, concerning Supernatural, as also to do with Charlie and her girlfriend being killed of and not being seen again and Cas confessing his love and not ever hearing an answer (negative or positive) to it and not appearing on the show afterward. It's not exactly "bury your gays" as it is "forgot them like old socks".

i saw the script posted for 518 online and there was no further reaction from dean, also things get removed from scenes all the time, if it was done so it would be because of runtime, not this wacky notion that someone was trying to censor a story that was never gay.

but it sounds like you already want to believe the horseshit so i can't help you.

I don't watch the show (I gave up around season 6 when it stopped being monster of the week), but statistically speaking, if the stuff that gets cut for runtime (which obviously does happen) is consistently things that are in the original script and support a deeper (potentially romantic) relationship between two people of the same sex, that's pretty darn sketchy...

except that this wouldn't have been the only scene cut and edited? they all are, very few scenes take the full raw-footage and use all of it, it gets chopped up and redone for context/runtime. so this in no way proves any kind of malicious agenda, especially as stated: this network has lots of gay characters in it's shows, and spn itself has had gay characters in episodes before, it's just that these two dudes weren't meant to be gay but that's what everyone is whining about because deny fandom it's white-dude slash and it looses it's mind.

"story that was never gay"

/platonically gets a boner at the sight of his... "fried"
/platonically gets mirrored to 4546543153 romantic pairings in the show, sometimes literally back-to-back scenes so you shouldn't be able to miss it
/platonically the actor of his "bro" gets directions to play the scene like a jilted lover
/platonically waits outside a building for hours and gazes at his "bro" through the window
/platonically confesses that "There's things ... people, feelings. That I want to experience differently than I have before. Or maybe even for the first time."
/platonically the darkness is able to triangulate his location through his heart/his bond with his... "bro"
/platonically acts just like John when he lost Mary (Sam even points this out in text)
/platonically gets coded as repressed, self-loathing bi (by queer writers who write coding gay men notice)
/platonically his yearning and anguish helps wake up his "bro/friend" in the empty
/platonically gets his "bro" back; the scene is shot in the darkness, but the light starting to shine on his face when he gets the call from his "bro" that his "bro" is back, they reunite in a dimly lit alley with the tune of "it's never too late to start all over again" playing n the background
/platonically gets coded to rising half-angel kid with his.. angel "bro"
/platonically goes through divorce arc/trial separation which is 100% filmed romantic in all angles
/platonically falls to his knees and begs for forgiveness for being wrong and too stubborn, cries while thinking he might not see his "bro" again
/platonically the show says in full text, both Dean/Cas and Sam/Eileen were real, when both Dean and Sam were doubting what was real

... yeah, so straight. >__>
