I don't know who BAP are/were(?), but you do know multiple bands coexist at the same time right? BTS didn't like... magically get where they are because ONE other group didn't make it big...

BTS were killing it back then as well and B.A.P couldn't touch them so I'm kind of baffled at OP's belief that idk, if B.A.P had stuck together... they would have taken BTS' place ?

I think that OP believes that the only reason BTS are successful is because they haven't been surpassed by another group.

Which is a ludicrous way to look at it. They're successful because they've managed to get more than the usual foothole that kpop has in the west. And other groups (and management) just aren't making the effort.
And i have to agree with another commenter here because B.A.P gave up and went solo. They didn't aspire for boyband supremacy anymore. Perhaps that's due to them seeing what the costs would be.
