...And finally, remember that subtext =/= text. If the 3 movies portray him as a flamboyant guy who takes a girl to prom, for all we know, he could be:
* Bi
* In the closest
* Metrosexual
Or any number of things. If he doesn't say he's gay, it doesn't mean he IS or that he ISN'T. It just means the fans can interpret how they will, and the OP decided that s/he likes Ryan x Kelsi.

Okay, so the director/screenwriter of the stage musical made him more obviously gay. That's cool. But the Ryan character didn't state his sexual orientation outright (because while that kind of thing might come into question in high school, no matter how generous Disney is, they wouldn't allow it), which means it's open to interpretation by fans. And some of us don't want to squish all gays into a box by assuming if a guy acts/dresses flamboyant, he's "so ghey!"
Besides, is there some sort of stigma against being bi now? That way, everyone wins; no one's "interpretation" is wrong!
