I don't particularly hate the character, but hard agree. As much as I like the Bumblebee movie, it could have done a better job on the characters and he in particular doesn't add much. The time on him could have been used better in Charlie Family or Bee.

SAME. But for me, it's because I'm deep into robot/human romances and though I know it wouldn't happen in this film (and even if it did, wouldn't last), the little pockets of ship tease (the Shape of Water reference XD) between Bee and Charlie was one of the things I liked about this film.

It also felt like her annoying neighbor crushing on her was probably included there because of normal, boring "boy likes girl" subplot. I say meh to that. Girl with Robot Lover is vastly more interesting.

Bumblebee was one of my favourite characters in the cartoon, but I could never stomach any of his spinoffs since they leaned so heavily on his comic relief aspects and had nowhere else to go with it.
