I guess what I'm saying is, Johnlock shipping way predated TJLC, and it has way outlasted it.

BBC Sherlock started in 2010. TJLC only really started to be a thing around 2014. It went down in flames after the series finale in 2017. A 3-year-reign of terror was awful but thankfully it's over. It's 2020 and most of the people who got their social capital pushing the TJLC bullshit flounced out sometime in 2017. There are still dozens of new Johnlock fics posted to AO3 every single day, so we sane JL shippers never needed them and we're better off without them.

Sherlock Holmes/John Watson as a fandom ship? It started in 1887. It'll outlive us all.
