Lighthearted crack series about anthropomorphized countries. It takes place in a large part during the world wars, though it references a lot of history. There's really light BL (usually used in a joking way) and there are a lot of jokes made about the countries based on how they fared/fare/acted during history (Italy's track record during WW2 = "useless Italy"; America = brash with a huge SAVE THE DAAAY complex whether it's needed or wanted or not).

Basically, there's huge wank that started in the fact that there were incredibly offensive requests on the kink meme and a few people decided to judge the entire fandom because of it. Haters then piled on and a part of the fandom went mildly insane and started being jerks to anyone who said they found the potentially offensive stuff in the series/fandom offensive without bashing the fans.

At this point it's just going around in a circle and the people majorly freaking out on either side won't leave each other alone. Unfortunately, that's encouraging the rabid defenders to think of all people who dislike the series as bashers and react badly, and encouraging people who already dislike or even don't care about the series to think that the entire fandom sucks and is batshit. Not gonna lie, series isn't for everyone, and you might either love it or be offended by it or just think it's lame. The wank and hate and freaking out has basically just turned into a big mess of "NO U" at this point, though.

Hope that clears it up a little for the people who don't know the dealie-o yet!

True Fact: I actually gave in and started reading the thing because one fan described the scene where, historically, Germany annexed Austria, as them having an... awkward conversation about it. And then Austria made Germany make him a sandwich. That was a pretty accurate description of the comic, too. |D

XD XD XD ahahaha. I have a friend who's Japanese and we constant throw inside WWII jokes at one another because I'm part German. It's HORRIBLE but funny 8(. Plus I'm a dork for WWII stuff. >>; (Valkyrie <3)

Plot: Scientist's family is murdered in a race riot. He vanishes and then melts the polar ice caps. Then creates an army of sea dwelling anthropomorphic creatures and rages war with humanity. Humanity's only weapon is use of submarines.
Butch chick, blue haired ex-navy apathetic guy, shark man with a battleship filled with human hating furries, sexy cat-mermaids, talking whales, and Antarctica is a tropical paradise where said Scientist known as Zorndyke lives with peaceful anthropomorphic creatures and tries to get a VERY IMPORTANT MESSAGE ACROSS.
