OP - No worries! I’m low-key fascinated by people who weren’t raised religious.

I know my stuff with Aziraphale is more sympathizing with his situation than wanting to bone down. I was born and raised religious, and like I said, I work there now, and I’m… starting to think this isn’t how I want to keep living my life. There’s pressure from my family & co-workers to be more devout, but I’m feeling like I want to break away. Nicky’s part of that as well — at some point in the past he realized the religious dogma he was part of was wrong, that “the love of my life was part of the people I was taught to hate,” and now he's moved on. So on those two (and Castiel, who I forgot to mention but is also in the mix), it’s, like, the catharsis of moving away from religion but not being vilified for it like I fear I would be IRL.

The Priest is… yeah, I think maybe I just want to fuck Andrew Scott on that one. Or maybe I like how secure he is in his faith? Or I like the conflict of his faith being tested? I’ll have to think on that one.

AYRT - Thank you for such a thoughtful response! That all makes perfect sense to me. And I hope you find a path that makes you comfortable and satisfied.

DA - if you haven't already seen it, might I suggest Keeping the Faith with Edward Norton. I think it is relevant to your interests.
(I am with you on the Nicky (andJoe) love!)

OP - Oh yeah, that looks right up my alley. Thanks for the rec! (And Joe/Nicky are the best! I've been beset by a bunch of Old Guard plot bunnies lately.)

DA

I don't know if you've ever seen the show "Evil", but one of the main characters on there is a priest in training, and he deals with some of the same struggles with faith that you speak of. So if you're interested, I'd recommend that show as well :).

OP - Oh shit! I actually really like Katja Herbers, and I had no idea she had a new show. Thanks for the rec!

You're welcome :)! She's great in it-I love her character. I hope you like it!
