You're really reaching for non-existent ways to be offended here. Especially as most of the voices that label that kind of relationship fine are not fangirls but grown men who have the attitude that the boy managing to 'lay' an adult woman. I'm quoting directly from comments on an article about such a real life case - female teacher and 13 year old male student. The male commenters were all for it. It was the women who were commenting that it was gross.

Mind you, having worked in almost exclusively male settings, I've heard enough to know that men are pretty gross about 13 year old girls sleeping with adult men too. Funnily enough they're less keen on adult men sleeping with 13 year old boys.

In conclusion, quite a lot of men are homophobic, sexist and fucking gross.

I'm... not offended? It just tickles me that the premise of this popular and highly acclaimed manga would get a person doxxed and harassed to hell and back if it were a fanfic.

I love Amira, but I'll admit that's mostly just me being a big old starry-eyed lesbian over a pretty woman with a bow and beautiful clothes.
The main reason I would be worried about an anime adaptation, actually, is that Otoyomegatari is a gorgeous manga, with so much detail given to clothes in particular, and no anime would put so much detail into individual frames. It would be incredibly expensive, just to begin with.

Amir is an easy sell, just enough doubt and strife in her life to make her interesting to follow, but she's basically the most by-the-numbers bride. I'm sure it's no coincidence that she lives in the same village as Pariya, the most unconventionally likeable bride. Though maybe I'm biased, Pariya cosplayer here.
