...I thought that was normal?

I mean no two people are alike, no two people have the exact same shared experiences, so everyone is going to have their own slightly differing interpretation of everything they see, including works of fiction and the characters therein.

So of course no one writes the characters exactly like I see them. I'm sure no one thinks I write the characters exactly like THEY see them. My usual MO is to mimic the existing characterization as closely as I can manage, but unless I'm just retelling canon word for word, there's going to be some variance from person to person, or even from story to story by the same author, if there's any time between the stories.

tl;dr: There are as many headcanons as there are fans. Possibly more.
