116. I feel nervous too, bb, and I'm an atheist. It seems like there's a lot of hate and/or intolerance towards EVERYTHING in fandom, period, but that's only with certain fans. I mean, I wouldn't use your LJ as a personal preaching podium, but I think if your friends are rational and mature human beings they could only benefit from some openness about your life. I feel awkward *not* talking about it. I think you just have to know how to pick the right friends.

126. I'm still deciding, myself. On one hand, I don't want to deal with bitchy elitists. On the other, not joining is like letting them win. Sound like a petulant teen, don't I? A PERFECTLY GOOD CANDIDATE FOR YOUR FANDOM, THEN. I'M COMING, WATCHMEN, JUST YOU WAIT.

167. Awww, of course you're not a bad slasher, silly. :) Everyone is different, everyone likes different things out of fanfiction. Some like porn, some like plot and genfic, and you like something different. This sounds just like me when I started slashing, actually. For years I just skipped over the porny fics because they didn't do anything for me, in fact I still get irritated when characters just jump into bed together if it doesn't seem like their personality to do so. What I like is what you said - the emotional side of things. I don't know who those guys are, but each fandom seems to have their own personality in terms of what kind of fic is posted. But I'm sure you can find some of what you like if the fandom's a decent size. Anyway, don't worry about liking a different side of things - you're probably just a more emotional and less sexual person than your friends. There's nothing wrong with ya. ;)
