Yes. I got some nice gifts and my husband is making dinner tonight. Watching basketball now, about to go make myself a drink. Not bad.

Yes :). My mom and I exchanged gifts, we've just had some dinner, we're watching some Christmas shows. Just a quiet, relaxing day at home.

I am feeling peevish and dissatisfied but there's no particular reason why. Just grouchy. I think it's just because of the pandemic.

I did! My sister smoked a brisket and it was delicious. Everyone enjoyed their gifts. Now I am very sleepy.

It sucked. Was just another day at work; nobody did anything and we were all like, "It just doesn't feel like Christmas, ya know?"

Quiet but good! Of course my period had to arrive just before Santa so I was popping painkillers and chocolate whenever I wasn't napping. But I ate lots of good food and mostly stayed inside watching tv and chatting with friends

Yes, thank you. Very low key, the Monstrous Bebe and her boyfriend and the ex SO and the dog, heh.

Some gifts, some nice conversation, the boyfriend gathered up all trash and whatnot and cleaned up for me without asking.
Vid-chat with my sis and Mom, and phone conversation with older brother, ICQ message conversation with younger brother.

And I'm wearing new, comfy, springy, cushion-y slippers with no holes! Yay!

Highs and lows-- a lot of the day has been really lovely, and I definitely appreciate keeping the gathering to just the quarantine pod this year. I really enjoyed giving my near and dear their gifts, especially the handmade ones being so appreciated, and I got some nice things that I needed (a new book of short genre fiction since I finished my last story collection, some exfoliating coffee soap to make face-washing more enjoyable plus a face mask with little tiger cats on it, shoes to replace a pair that got ruined) and a couple of cute things just for fun.

The low is that I had to leave Christmas morning to spend a couple of hours lying down with a heating pad wrapped around my hip, and another break with the heating pad in the afternoon, have had a LOT of physical misery... but my family's been really sweet about making sure I'm okay.

Started out really glad that I don't celebrate because the day began pretty crappily, but things improved.

Like, I cleaned off my car to go out and spin some pokestops so I'd have balls for the day and gifts to send people, and discovered on my way down the road that apparently I didn't have mobile data service. Checked my balance, the balance checker was down too. When it eventually came up, I did still have plenty of data left, but still couldn't connect for like another hour. In the meantime, I took my meds since I wasn't going anywhere... and almost choked on them.

Also started editing the fic I finished just before midnight last night, and going back to chapter 1, discovered someone had sustained a fairly notable injury which somehow I had forgotten about for the entire rest of the fic. -_- I think I was going to do something with it and decided not to, so probably I can just edit that out, but rereading the whole thing to see if I would rather edit it in to seven more chapters where relevant. So giant facepalm at myself for that.

When mobile service did come back, and I could go make that pokestop run, I immediately almost got in an accident a block from my house when some moron in a huge truck decided to take a corner at about 40mph, when the speed limit is 25 and the roads are unplowed. Of course they fishtailed and if I hadn't slammed on the brakes while I was just starting to turn onto the same street, they would've hit me because they ended up on the wrong side of the road heading straight at me. Not five minutes later, on a 45mph speed limit street, someone decided that wasn't fast enough and passed me - but not fast enough, so they had to slam on their brakes right after getting in front of me again to make their turn, which meant *I* had to slam on my brakes to avoid rear-ending them, so good thing for them that street had actually been plowed.

...But then at a really long stoplight I caught a shiny Alolan Vulpix, so that kinda went a ways towards making me less angry with myself for leaving the house.

Made a perfect snowboy and completed my museum's fish collection in Animal Crossing, back in Pokemon Go land won a shiny shadow Scyther off Jessie. So games were nice to me.

Then my dad sprung a surprise family video chat on me, and I hate video chat due to my health problems making it hard to talk aloud, but my family is pretty amusing and there were pets involving themselves in the conversations, sometimes wearing festive holiday stuff. I will tolerate festive holiday stuff on cute animals. ;)

Yeah, it was nice. I cooked a bunch of shrimp for dinner and didn't even make a pretense of having a healthy, well-rounded meal. Sometimes you just NEED to eat like... a pound or two of shrimp. I also made fudge, so that was dessert.

Yes, since there were fewer people I tried to go extra on getting good gifts, everyone looked happy with what I got for them so I'm happy :)
