For me, Mando has an interesting dilemma hanging over him now as things stand. I do still want Grogu back at some point though.

(Anonymous) 2020-12-25 11:54 pm (UTC)(link)Meaning: they're going to bring him back. Maybe not in the first few eps of season 3, or maybe he'll only be recurring when Mando goes to visit him at Jedi school. Or maybe there'll be a time jump at some point and Grogu has to leave, or is ready with his training. Luke's Jedi school does get destroyed eventually, soooo...
Anyway, no way they'll completely remove Baby Yoda from what most people know as the Baby Yoda show. We might see him a bit less so people can learn to like other characters more, but that's it.

(Anonymous) 2020-12-26 02:23 am (UTC)(link)Okay, my wild opinion here is this arc was SUPER compressed. Like, okay due to the HUGE budget they're using on each episode. I get why they're doing it. 8 Episodes per season, there is no room for filler. (And the filler has been painful. The Gunslinger and the Passenger stand out.) Season Two was Din running around being the most OBVIOUS idiot ever. "Have you seen?" I wanted to tear my hair out. And everything happened so fast to keep up hype!
People got invested with Grogu and the relationship and this vague PROMISE they wouldn't have to know 9 movies, and 2 or 3 is it, different animated shows in order to understand what is going on in the series. Then Favreau and Filoni just went "we love our previous stuff so much we're going to throw in Ahsoka and Thrawn and Bo'Katan!" And now they've got 2 or 3 more projects on top of this they want to "have a inter series climatic event" and I'm just... flabbergasted.
The series has been fun to an extent. The celeb cameos kind of neat. But do we really have enough character building for Din to be the next Manda'lore? We've meet no other Mandalorians than Bo-Katan and her 2 friends. The covert is gone except Smith. Din and Bo-Katan being at odds is pretty much where we go from here. If the Children of the Watch think the planet Mandalore is cursed then, um, good luck Bo'Katan?
I kind of wish they'd built up to Moff Gideon even more. Take more time. Show Grogu getting stronger in the force and his bond with Din. Made Din a tad more subtle so the story felt more natural.
But right now the tension is gone.
