Preferred option: green burial. Pros: has the smallest carbon footprint. Cons: can get expensive, takes up space.

Second option: alkaline hydrolysis. Pros: effectively the same results as cremation but takes less energy. Cons: not legal/available everywhere (it's legal in my home state but not the one where I currently live).

Third option: cremation.

I don't care what happens to the remains that come out of the second two options. Maybe scattered somewhere remote and pretty would be nice. I'm not opposed to human composting (available almost nowhere as of yet) or donation to science, but I haven't given them much thought.
