You're right, I just want to add something:

Yaoi (やおい or 801) means "yama nashi, ochi nashi, imi nashi" (山なし、落ちなし、意味なし), which roughly translates to "no climax, no punch line, no meaning" and had become a term for BL stories that were only written/drawn for the sake of depicting the characters having sex.

I've seen Japanese BL writers still use the term to tell their readers that there is no deep meaning in their story or that it gets really weird and they just needed those things to happen to make their characters have sex.
