Given that people are demonstrably and consistently bad at figuring out who is and who is not an anti, and that the definition so often reduces to "people who disagree with me about shipping", I am uncomfortable with this.

(Yes, I know that you are going to respond that only people who doxx others are called antis, but that's absolutely not the way that it works in practice)

It has never meant "someone who disagrees with me about shipping" NOR does it mean "someone who doxxes others". Anti means someone who thinks the type of fiction and ships you like reflects you as a person, morally, flings around pedophile accusations, says things like "if you like X ship kill yourself/you're a horrible person/you hate abuse victims", "jaws effect", "shipping caused me to get groomed", and things along those lines. Their activities include doxxing if you piss off the particularly unhinged or self-rightous, but is also simply harassment and bullying campaigns, or posting the shit I mentioned above. Usually they just circle jerk together in discord servers and intentionally trigger themselves by sharing content they hate for the outrage high or bully artists out of fandom for posting the "bad" ship.

I keep seeing "anti has lost all meaning" on FS specifically and it's simply not true, at all. The only people who seem to think anti means "disagree about fiction" are people who never understood what anti meant in the first place, and you seem to be one of them.

Additional things that make someone an anti, since you're confused:

1. Referring to cartoon characters who are written as teens/children as literal minors, and treating them as if they were real children.

2. Threatening to report someone (to Twitter or actual authorities) for porn of anime characters.

3. Extreme cognitive dissonance when you point out that "porn of teen characters having sex causes CSA" is identical to the "violent video games causes violence" argument and insist it's different somehow.

4. A whole ton of puritanical anti-sex conservative rhetoric wrapped up in woke liberal buzzwords when talking about shipping. Bonus points if they refer to their NOTP as a "pedo ship".

5. Referring to themselves as an "adult minor", or making claims that shipping a 30 y/o with a 50 y/o is pedophilia.

+ 100

Also dehumanizing people who are into ships they don't like to the extent that they think it's completely fine to talk about killing them, mutilating them, executing them, cheering for them to get raped or abused, accusing them of having enjoyed their rape or abuse, and telling them to kill themselves. They seem to get competitive in who can be the most sadistic in their violent ideation.

man, this. it's really not hard
