Because it’s fun.

(Anonymous) 2020-12-31 04:20 pm (UTC)(link)
Doesn't sound very fun to me.

Good thing no one is ever going to force you to do it then.

(Anonymous) 2020-12-31 04:25 pm (UTC)(link)
Thank God. I have much better things to do with my time than secretly mock amateur writers.

I don’t find poor reading comprehension very enjoyable, but that’s what you’re doing for fun today and I’m glad you have that as a creative outlet.

Hmm, seeing as so many people here apparently can't appreciate fic until they personally tailor it to suit their tastes, I wouldn't be talking shit about anyone else's reading comprehension. At least I can understand and enjoy a story as the author intended it to be read.

See, there you go again with the reading comprehension again. Just because you prefer to put toppings on your oatmeal doesn’t mean you don’t understand how to make that packet of instant oatmeal with hot water and eat it plain. No one is judging you for liking your instant oatmeal plain. No one is judging the company that made it or the store that sold it. The only one passing judgment here is you, but as we’ve said before, it’s good for you to have hobbies.

Is that...a metaphor? I'm not sure, see, because I'm so bad at reading comprehension, I guess.

(Anonymous) 2020-12-31 07:06 pm (UTC)(link)
Did you seriously just argue that the only correct and intelligent way to enjoy a work of fiction is to never alter the author’s original words in a discussion about fan fiction? lol!

If you can't see the difference between a group of like-minded people sharing transformative works based on a piece of pop culture, and someone modifying an amateur's work for their sole purposes, I don't know what to tell you.

But no, I didn't say that was the ONLY correct and intelligent way. That's a reading comprehension fail right there. ;)

I get it. Your crappy fix-it doc is art. OP’s crappy fix-it fix is vandalism. Every so often, someone reinvents Anne Rice. I’m glad it’s you this year.

Anon, you're so insecure about this you can't think straight. Take a break. Breathe.

This perfect reaction. I mean honestly.
