It's recently become more a thing with creators basically 'farming' their audience for nudes and sex; having multiple fans on the go thinking they're the 'special' one who might get something out of it. I know of at least 5 content creators in the past 18 months who have been sacked due to it.

"Maybe if I send Pewdiepie my nudes like he asked, he'll send me some promo codes for free games!" kind of attitude.

AFAIK, Pewdiepie has never been accused of anything like this, he was just the most well known streamer I could think of as an example.
