I dunno, this one (to me) is more clear than the possession thing. Tara would not have consented to sex if she had memories of the fight because she was still (rightly) upset with Willow. By taking away those memories, Willow took away her ability to have informed consent.

at the time they had sex it was fully and completely consensual on tara's part and i'm inclined to respect that; i'm not totally okay with the notion of redefining it as rape when new information comes about after the fact

the violation was the messing with the memories, and that's what tara calls her out for and leaves her over (and rightly so)

Rape by deception is a thing, though.

But generally not a prosecutable crime because how do you draw the line between deception and presenting the best aspects of yourself? In obvious cases it's obvious, but once you get to marginal cases, it's impossible to pick a side.

NAYRT but... the situation with Tara/Willow is as unlikely to happen as with Diana/Steve and yet people seem pretty clear that what she did was rape of some sort, so a memory wipe to get back into your GF's pants seems pretty cut and dry to me.
