I'm not going to bother to argue with your opinions, but, as I am sure a bunch of other people will tell you now:

Primeval, you moron, is NOT a BBC programme.

It was made by ITV - the Beeb's chavvy commercial cousin.

If you want to criticise it, be my guest, but at LEAST get your facts straight before you start.

BBCAmerica is not the BBC.

The OP was specifically commenting on 'the BBC' (not bbcAmerica, not british shows in general, but the actual BBC)) and it's ability (or lack thereof) to make decent sci-fi. The bbc had nothing to do with the creation, production or airing of Primeval, so it seems VERY silly to criticise it for that particular show.

That's like criticising Phillip Pullman for a lack of decent story telling in the Harry Potter books, just because he and JK Rolling are both British, wrote during the same time period and happen to be published by the same company in America.

I am aware of this fact. I didn't make my point very clear, sorry about that. What I was getting at was this:

If the OP only watches BBCA, instead of BBC, it would be fairly easy to confuse Primeval for being a BBC program. I thought it was for a while, until I looked it up on TVtropes, and learned better. (Slightly off topic, I love how that sites describes the show - 'It's ITV's answer to Doctor Who. It's like Torchwood, with dinosaurs instead of sex'. Which is why I love Primeval so much.)

So, yes, research first would have been good. But I can understand the mistake.

BBCAmerica is not the BBC.

Technically, it is. BBCAmerica is owned by BBC Worldwide, which is commercial subsidiary of the BBC.

This is why if you go to the BBC website, you will see a link to BBCAmerica on their main page under the "TV" box.

So, with that said, why does BBCAmerica, which is owned and operated by the BBC, air ITV shows? I can see the confusion.
