Hmm. She didn't say she wanted femslash for the sake of any and all girl-smut. Since the OP is arguing about character interaction and personalities in het and/or slash, I'm sure she would apply the same logic to femslash. It sounds to me like she's arguing "Dude. The gender of characters is only one aspect. There are better things to ship by." I agree with that. Even though I am predominately a hetter (huge Het fan, actually), I have slash pairings that I like if there's something about the interaction that attracts me. I hate it when other hetters say they "hate all slash," and I hate when other slashers say they "hate all het." It's completely shallow, and I lose respect for them automatically when they say that.

That's the point of what I was saying. Why can't people that like male slash like it for the reasons she like female slash? That's all. If she wants femslash for reasons other than just girl-smut, a person that likes boyslash can do the same. The secret makes it sound like that isn't possible and that's just not true.

And I'm not arguing this as a person that like only slash. I love het as well. It just bugged me how it was said.

Ah, than I think we're actually all in agreement. ;) The OP started her post by saying "If you claim to love slash and hate het..." I think she's aiming her post at only those particular slashers, not all slashers.

ETA: At least, I think that's what you agree with. Apologies for putting words in your mouth if that isn't it.

We're in agreement, yeah. It's still a little off-putting to me, though. The secret, I mean. ^^;

OP here. This thread is basically exactly what I was trying to say. I have a really awful time expressing what I mean, especially when the situation is nuanced and I'm rather frustrated, explaining exactly why this was posted as a secret. I realize now the secret is more flawed than I had realized, and I apologize for coming across as an asshole. Please don't hate me?
