153. You're a fucking idiot. The movie was about the marines who landed on Iwo Jima and put that flag up on Mount Suribachi. None of them were black. One was an American Indian. And you fail to mention how he made that other movie, Letters from Iwo Jima, about the Japanese. Holy shit. He made a movie about Asian people.

I'm no huge fan of Clint, but you can't make a movie about an organisation that was segregated and just pretend it wasn't - in fact I'd have found desegregating the marines just to be more PC more racist as it would be pretending things were all peachy and colour blind when they weren't.

England and Wales at the end of Elizabeth I's reign had a population of about 4,050,000. Through trade with Portugal, the Holy Roman Empire (which still had a Mediterranean coastline at this point), and indirectly the Ottomans, there were by 1600 about 48,000 blacks in England, most of them slaves who escaped to a country which at the time had no racially-based slavery (although it did have slavery not based on race). That's about 1.19% of the population.

Iwo Jima involved 132,000 soldiers, 900 of whom were black. That's about 0.68%.
