Of course there are unhealthy/unfit thin people and healthy fat people. Ever hear of the expression "The exception that proves the rule"? These people immediately pop to mind because they're out of the ordinary. But for the majority of people, yes, outward weight and appearance is a symptom of internal health and fitness. I don't get why so many people immediately respond to any mention of weight and fitness with "But not everyone who's skinny is healthy!!!1eleventy!" Um, yeah. But most people are, which is the point.

For me, it's less the issue that people who are bigger are not always unhealthy (because you're right, being larger tends to be a sign of being overweight) and more an issue of people assuming that skinny means healthy. I know plenty of girls and boys slimmer than me who can't keep up with me in physical fitness for two minutes.
