...Does it still count if I'm still fixated enough on Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles that I'll buy pretty much anything with Raphael on it? I mean yes, childhood obsession, but it persists. (Maybe because my family didn't have money growing up so I never got the merch. Now I am an adult making my own money and if I want to drop a little on a keychain or hat or whatever, I can.)

There were also some years where I had to watch Flight of the Navigator once a day, and then that happened with Short Circuit 2 as well.

I'd say that counts :D! Yeah, if you've got the opportunity and whatnot to splurge on yourself like that, go for it, I say :D.

Raphael was my favorite turtle when I was a kid, too, simply 'cause his bandana was red and that's my favorite color. Really doesn't take much for a kid, does it :p?

Hah, nope! In my case it was more nuanced - I instantly loved Mike (who doesn't? It's pretty hard to not like the guy), and I am a nerd whose favorite color is purple so you'd think I'd be into Don. But Raph... I think he may have been the beginning of my "moody loner who needs lots of hugs" thing, thanks to the original comics and the live-action movies. Was not expecting that my first "crush" would be a turtle.

LOL, awwww, that's great! I can totally understand the appeal of the moody loner! I've been there, too. There's just something about that type...

Eh, hey, some of my first crushes were on animals from Disney movies, so...:p. I think we've all got an "unusual" crush like that somewhere in our past :D.
