I don't know why people find this confusing or hypocritical. People writing fic in their own space: fine. Couldn't care less even if I'm not into celebs enough to read fic about them. Actively asking whether said celebs are together to their faces/insulting their spouses where they can see/sending DEATH THREATS to their spouses/sending them fic+art of the RPF ship/generally harassing them over the idea of them being together: absolutely not okay and shouldn't at all be considered anything less than unbelievably rude and invasive.

They're real people for christs sake, not toys for us to do whatever we want with without consequence, and celebs are well within their right to find RPF creepy as shit and not want to engage with it.
