Where I live is very rural, as in less than 7k population in my town. We were *surviving* on 50k a year, after taxes.

By surviving, that means driving a 13+yr old vehicle, little to no savings, little to no extra for clothes, etc, having to be extremely careful of our health, even with insurance.

It was tight, but we were *surviving*.

Surviving is not actually living.

People making less are barely even surviving. Add in a pandemioc, and home foreclosures and evictions are going sky high, even with moratoriums.
