Well, let's see. Very little sleep on account of 4 nightmares (two involving my mother dying for some reason) and my cat coming in and out and in and out and making a lot of noise. Woke up stressed and tense. Cut one finger on a knife, spilled hot coffee on my other hand.

Had a bunch of errands, none of which went smoothly for one reason or another.

Getting my hair done was supposed to be my relaxing me-thing, except the lady getting her hair done in the next room spent most of the time I was there ranting loudly about Democrats and the election, and my very nice hairdresser couldn't block it out.

And then I came home and read the news.

So my day was stressful and I'm feeling stressed. Going to have a drink tonight even though I'm not supposed to be drinking alcohol. But I need it. Really, really need it.

I woke up at midnight with such bad heartburn I briefly thought I was having a heart attack. Then I googled symptoms of heart attacks in women to make sure I wasn't. Still have pretty annoying heartburn. Found out two people at my work died while I was out. My company is moving back to work from home as much as possible.

I was bored at work today (I know, the horror) and have been stressed due to recent trips to urgent care + grad school applications -- to the point where I've barely eaten more than the absolute minimum over the last three days. But today I had a really good conversation with a former professor and I am feeling slightly less anxious with despair.

Things are a bit shit (more globally than personally, but I take everything personally), but on the darkest of bright sides: I'm taking note of all the terrible stuff that's going down and saving it up to throw at someone the next time I see them. Last time I saw them they used the phrase 'first world problems' when I said I was worried about the US election, so I want to see if I can make them sink through the floor in shame.

Insane in the goddamn membrane.

Way too many moments of me seeing an opportunity and just not having the sack to seize it, then making myself look bad because of it. So right now I'm getting drunk so that I don't have to feel like a piece of shit. Hopefully I'll still have a job by the end of the week, but idk, maybe everyone's sick of my generally being useless while pretending I'm anything but.

Slept awfully last night, kept having bizarre nightmares when I did fall asleep (nuclear war, plane crash, etc), super long and busy day at work, etc etc etc

Good, for the most part. Was finally able to send out my best friend's Cheistmas present to him. Got laid off before Thanksgiving so I've been having a rough time doing anything. My friends have been understanding. Spent today out driving mostly and listening to an auto-text reader app read out a fic a friend and I wrote.

Took down Xmas decorations today because its 12th night and had an anxiety attack over mice in the house (I had spent hours in the kitchen trying to figure out how they're getting in - the worst fear is that they're somehow coming through the wall from our neighbours house because they insist that there's no mice problem in our area -_- like in London you're no further than 3 feet away from a rat, so if there's rats about there's definitely mice).

Full of RAGE because it's time for a game of Schrodinger's Covid! Courtesy of That One Coworker who's been bragging about how her boyfriend is crossing state lines to go to bars to avoid our state's lockdown and how she's not scurrred about getting sick.

Well, guess what? She's sick! And I started feeling puny about when I would expect to start symptoms, which could also have been PMS, but then my 80-year-old mom who I live with started feeling puny with body aches and fatigue yesterday. So now we're like, "...uh oh."

TL;DR: Suck my dick, Susan.

Well, today I found out that there's some sort of Tiktok conspiracy theory that Hellen Keller was a fraud - like that she wasn't disabled, or wasn't THAT disabled, or that other people wrote her work or some shit. IDK the details, and I don't want to. Just thinking about it makes me want to stab someone. How fucking stupid can people get?

After S1 of Dirk Gently (and before all the shit about Max Landis hit the fan), I halfway believed Dirk and Todd might really become canon.

I mean, the way Samuel Barnette (who is gay) played Dirk felt very much not straight. Like, the actor was clearly not instructed to play Dirk in a way that would ping as hetero, and if he was, Barnette clearly gave no fucks and didn't actually try. And it was just suuuper easy to imagine Todd (Elijah Wood) as bi/pan. Plus, that was the same year where Max Landis had his rainbow hair at all the cons, and tended to accessorize it with rainbow clothing. And there was little-to-no heterosexual romantic storylines set up in S1 (except maybe the slightest hint towards Todd/Farah, but that was honestly so minor it was hard to tell if it was even there). And the whole show just had such crazy, chaotic energy that it was easy to imagine they might do anything with the story going forwards, including making Dirk/Todd a thing, as well as maybe pairing up Amanda and Farah, or having Amanda be in a poly relationship with The Rowdy 3, or having Farah be ace. Any and all of that.

It all just seemed like it could happen, to an unusual degree.

I didn't actually tinhat, but it's the one time where I've gone partway down the rabbit hole and let myself think (hope) that maybe it could happen.

Maybe? There are a lot of people in tinhatted ships that I do genuinely believe are gay/bi/whatever, I just don't think they are in a relationship with the clearly straight person everyone ships them with lol
