Worried about losing contact with friends, but at the same time I'm so use to being isolated most of my life that this quarantine has probably made me internally feel like an old man in the mountains - living in a lone cabin and avoid all life that tries to come near me.

I'm terrified when things go back to 'normal' - I don't think I'll be able to socially adjust and normal human again.

Was tired af, so I went to bed straight after work yesterday. Then I made the mistake of reading the news after seeing some posts this morning. Great, the country is more broken then I thought it was.

A couple of months ago, I unfollowed a Tumblr mutual because they were posting more and more stuff I didn't care for than stuff I did, and the stuff they were posting was squicky as fuck for me. I didn't criticize what they were posting, because it's their blog and they're welcome to post whatever they like, and I didn't do anything petty like send anon hate. And I just unfollowed, I didn't block them. I guess they noticed/found out, because I got a really assholey, passive-aggressive DM from them about it. I just deleted it without responding, but I'm kinda bummed about it.

That person is a deeply insecure asshat, I'm sorry, nonny.

I periodically unfollow someone I actually quite like because they can't help but get into long, drawn out arguments with assholes and life's too short to keep scrolling through that shit. They have never been an ass about it.

Unblock this person. They don't deserve you.

A little better than yesterday, at least, feeling like less of a failure. Hope that continues through tomorrow.

I gave blood today and it was awful. My vein rolled and the phlebotomist couldn't find it so she had to find her supervisor. Then the flow kept stopping so they had to keep adjusting it. So now my arm hurts like hell. I did wake up to use the bathroom at just the right time to watch the last 20 minutes of Biden's confirmation. That was nice.

Ugh, been there, did that. I hate it when a vein doesn't cooperate.

Well, thanks for giving blood. I would like to but my local blood bank sets out collection about the same time each month, which happens to coincide with my period anemia.

I had like four months when I kept being rejected since I had low iron. Now I take iron pills the week leading up to blood donation.

I had leave to use up so I was planning to take today off anyway, and then yesterday happened. So glad I didn't have to focus at work for 10 hours; after a coworker told me to check the news yesterday focusing on work was impossible.

Not bad. I bought myself a ring for Christmas on etsy back in mid November, handmade to order from a small independent jeweler. The guy emailed me in December and said he was very sorry but COVID had seriously affected his business and instead oh having 3 guys working for him it was just him now, and he was swamped with orders and way behind. He said he didn't think he could get my ring to me by Christmas and would I like a refund. I told him it was fine, the ring was for me and I could wait awhile longer. I told him not to stress over my order and just get it to me when he could. Well, the ring came today and it was definitely worth the wait, I absolutely love it and left him a good review. He contacted me a couple of hours ago and said thanks for your patience and positive feedback, and gave me a lifetime discount of 25% off all future orders! Of course I am thrilled about that (told him he didn't have to, he insists, I said well okay now that you mention it there IS a piece or three I wouldn't mind having and a quarter off the price is a sweet deal, lol), but what a nice development.

I ordered two bracelets a while back and the package must have gotten lost in the mail because the ring I ordered with them came and they didn't. I emailed the maker (not on etsy, but an independent jeweler in LA) and the contact was so nice and they re-sent and included a free third bracelet! They're leather with brass beads and so pretty, and I wanted three anyway but that wasn't in my budget. So happy.

Sore. Yesterday I upped my free weight workout by fifteen pounds and I'm feeling it today.

I thought I was feeling crappy because of stress but now I'm legit worried I'm coming down with something. My head has been pounding all day and my body feels weak and sluggish. I'm trying to stay awake for the weekly D&D sesh but it's hard, man.

Brought my computer into the shop today, so I'm borrowing my mother's second computer. Got several job applications done. Took a decent-length nap. Just am so stressed at what is going on in America right now. And feel bad for Biden at the country he's inheriting.

After the crazy day yesterday and staying up way too late to watch as much as I could stand of the electoral counting, I had to be up at 8am for a day full of seminars for work, aaaaaaaaaaaaaaauuuuggghhhh

But on the bright side I only had a half day left so I only had to sit through a keynote that had nothing to do with my job, which I and my department were MSTing in real time on our Discord (I love my job, but my coworkers make it even better), then watch the equivalent of a YouTube about stuff I already knew, then I ran out of hours I was allowed to work for the week. XD

So now it is my weekend, the new fic project is getting more twisted than I expected (good thing in my opinion), just nabbed 600,000 XP in about ten minutes tonight in Pokemon Go by virtue of going Ultra/Best with some folks with a Lucky Egg running, and looks like Congress is going to fasttrack a second impeachment for Trump. *confetti*

I've been watching Star Wars Theory videos. What if Anakin Liked Sand? is hilarious and awesome.

Alright. I still don't have COVID, and I'm halfway through the second season of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. I really just want Midge to help Susie pick out a nice suit to wear to important gigs.

Just sitting around, thinkin' about how alarmingly attractive Damian Lewis is.
