someone who asks me to beta better not put my name on something full of errors.

OP would not be asking you to beta for them. The mods would be asking you to beta for OP.

It's not OP's fault that the mods are forcing them to work with a beta. It's not OP's fault that you're assigned to an unwilling author.

Ideally, OP would tell you straight out that they're only working with a beta because they have to, and warn you that they're only really looking for a surface beta. OP might not feel at liberty to say that to you, though, in case you were to complain to the mods and get them booted again.

But if this is how you feel, then eh, maybe OP's approach of shamelessly lying about having a beta is their best bet. *shrugs*
