Slowly watching the Ducktales reboot and enjoying it! But I’d probably be more hesitant with some of the voices and personality changes if I didn’t already know and like some of the actors behind them (and even that doesn’t make the new Gyro 100% work for me).

However, it’s clear there’s a lot of affection for the source materials - the old show, the Barks and Rosa comics, even the video games. And the Donald/nephews relationship is actually quite a bit sweeter, which is nice. But is anyone ever going to figure out what the deal is with the nephews’ dad?

I know they were retconned as Donald's nephews, but I still remember ye olde days when they were Daisy's nephews. And back then, I thought that was a euphemism and they were actually Donald and Daisy's illegitimate kids. So there's that.

ayrt - Has Daisy been their aunt w/o Donald also being their uncle? I’ve seen one of the comic family trees where Daisy’s brother and Donald’s sister were their parents, but haven’t seen anything where they’re related to just Daisy.

It also always surprised me that Disney was ok when they used question marks on the kids’ dad on the family tree! Definitely made me think “illegitimate kids/dark family secret”, etc.
