But the books tell us that house elves mostly like being slaves and that Hermione is in the wrong for thinking that they might not want to be slaves any more. The most critical of class norms it ever gets is saying that masters have a responsibility to be caring and kind masters. But... still masters and slaves.

How is that a commentary on British class dynamics being fucked up. If house elves are meant to be a stand-in for lower classes, how is that not horrifying. Please explain.
