Oh so the most boring plot thread in the book backed up by going, "It's BAD she beat up and killed her would-be rapist, gais, he deserves happiness, too!" is totes okay?

Seems they messed up by not wanting to upset audiences too much by having her beat and kill an innocent person, but also wanting to show that what she did was bad (which it is, regardless of the fact that her victim was a would-be rapist. There is a middle ground between deserving happiness and deserving to die a cruel and painful death, and it's frankly terrifying that more people don't know that.)

Just like there is a middle ground there, there is also a middle ground between justified and "this is clearly an act of a villain, she's irredeemable now."

Like, maybe people are saying there are understandable reasons for her actions, not justifying them. And saying that they think she's still redeemable at this point and this doesn't seem like the best writing choice for what the writers were going for. Doesn't mean they are justifying what she did.

Cool motive, still murder. I'd say that it's funny how big the overlap is between people who were incensed that Hawkeye went all serial killer in Endgame and people who think it's totally justified that Barbara murdered that guy that sexually harassed her, but really it's just super sexist and offensive to women.

There is a whole range between justified and "this makes her a villain now" or even "this is the clear start of her villain journey"
