In fact, you Hetalia fans care so little about what others think that you post a billion secrets telling us just HOW little you care! Boy, that really shows US how little you care!

Okay, okay... sarcasm aside... I really have nothing against the fandom. Honest. I only wish the people IN the fandom were honest that most of them are there for the yaoi and nothing more. The insistence that most of them are in it for the history is irritating. The series isn't historically accurate and like a previous secret said, history is about the people not the countries and their stereotypes. Where the hell do you get history from a series like this??

Okay, sorry for that. I just had to get that off my chest.

I'm certainly not in it for the emotional depth of story and character, lol. It's entertaining and anyone taking it seriously is really just... silly, imo. Although there are some beautiful and moving fanworks with a serious tone out there. The source material itself, though, doesn't pretend to be more than an excuse to mix history with ho yay.

Yeah, I carry the same attitude about my fandom. :\ Although, I admit, I do sometimes get serious about it but usually not all the time.

We are all fangirling over a work of entertainment. It shouldn't be taken so seriously, when the original work isn't serious with itself. lol

A few fans doesn't reflect a whole of community of 3000 people.

No, I'm frankly sick and tired of the people who think it has to be the yaoi or whatever. The series is more accurate than you have credit to since the author does show his work and will admit if there's some things he stretched or whatnot. And history when it taught, believe it or not, taught pretty abstractly most of the time. Even in most through of history tend to forget every single person who made an event happen and stick to people who really stuck out.

And the funny part is Hetalia do show historical figures, the character themselves are treated as they were high ranking soldiers/nobles/whatever.

But sorry, you do not get to dictate my reasons for liking a series. You wouldn't like it if someone does it on you.

I can honestly say I'm not "in it for the yaoi," seeing as how this is pretty much my only fandom where I haven't touched anything over G for it, which is weird for me 'cos I ship everything. There are a few characters that I'm vaguely interested in shipping slash-wise (any mix of England, America, and Canada, as well as Russia/America and G-rated chibi!HRE/chibi!Italy in a sort of "BAAAAAW WHY T^T!!" way), but I'm also just as vaguely interested in shipping Austria/Hungary (which is het) and wish I could find more of the comics with the other girls because they look awesome.

Mostly, I'm a dork and the series makes me giggle, I actually do like the characters for the way they're portrayed, and it sometimes teaches me little facts that I didn't know and gives me faces to put to events ( ... Bloody Sunday >: ). As well as occasionally making me cry, but I MAY BE THE ONLY ONE there, seeing as how the Fruits Basket anime made me bawl like three or four times. :/
