YAY! I was starting to feel so alone in my love for them. I really don't get why Frank Herbert decided to make Chani Paul's one and only, when she had absolutely nothing special, or interesting. At best she was very domestic. And their love story felt so flat and predictable. Irulan on the other hand is such a layered, graceful, unique character that's been wasted. Shame.

I ship Irulan/Paul like nothing else. I loved "Paul of Dune," even though it was so inferior to the original book, because of the latent shippiness (well, not exactly, but development of the Paul/Irulan relationship). I didn't really like Chani (I liked her when she first showed up and was a total bitch to Paul, but when they became TRU LUV I was like...what?). Irulan always will be my favorite character. =]

OMG! This really made my day, I just bought "Paul of Dune" the other day, not expecting very much after the disappointing end of "Sandworms of Dune".

Brian Herbert had the chance to revive the whole Paul/Irulan story and give it its proper ending, but he went the same boring path his father did. With an extra cheesy ending added. :(

"Paul of Dune" although not being all that great as a piece of literature, is much fun. Although there isn't much of Paul/Irulan as a romantic relationship, Irulan is very well developed, I think, and there are a few scenes between them that really stood out for me. Also, throughout the entire book, you get the feeling that he does respect her as his legal wife.

Yeah, I never even read "Sandworms of Dune" (although I should probably get to it). "Paul of Dune" is the first Brian Herbet book I've read, actually.

I'm sorry for the spoilers!
