Actors you love in roles you didn't

Are there actors you really love normally where there was one particular role that just didn't work for you?

Richard Coyle as Moist von Lipwig. I assume it was a combination of misunderstanding the source material and poor direction but the sheer lack of showmanship and charisma in the performance really turned me off.

Emma Watson as Belle. She's lovely, she was just very miscast and too weak of a singer for such a musically-inclined role.

Zachary Levi in Shazam. Admittedly, that one owed more to my hating the film as a whole. He was fine; I just wished he picked a project that I disliked less.

Hugo Weaving as Elrond. An amazing actor, but not right for the role at all. A lot of it was the writing. But still think someone else should have played the part.

Obvious choice would be Cumberbatch in Into Darkness. Great Actor, but should have been one of the other clones, not Khan.

David Thewlis in Wonder Woman. It might have worked without the action scene. But he just couldn't pull off being Ares of all of the gods battling Wonder Woman in a remotely believable way. Sad, because he's good otherwise.
