And like, just because you live somewhere doesn't guarantee you have the accent.
Source: I was literally born and raised in Scotland, and people ask me when I moved here ALL THE TIME because I have some sort of American accent, that I got from TV. Also one of my classmates in highschool had a posh english accent even though his entire family had a more local accent.

(Anonymous) 2021-01-15 01:49 am (UTC)(link)I think that was the point? There are a lot of American accents, so an actor being American doesn't necessarily mean they're speaking with their natural accent rather than inexpertly faking a different regional accent.
