Most of the time I get it. You want to write a bunch of porn but slash doesn't do it for you. Sometimes only het does it for me, too, and then I'll click on a swap fic if it's within reach, it's whatever.

It does weird me out a bit when -- and this isn't specific to you, OP -- an author does it consistently, with every pairing they write. And I have known people like that. It always makes me wonder why they don't just leave these slash fandoms for more appropriate pastures.

If OP writes their novel, how does it impact fandom and the existing slash fics? I'm thinking...not at all.

I think they meant to say your comment is fundamentally mistaken because it's not like OP is consistently writing genderswap fanfiction for slash pairings.

And honestly, I don't see the problem with that myself, but anyway, that's just me.
