I have a very small cleft in the tip of my tongue because when I was a kid I stuck my tongue onto a pole in the middle of cold weather. I managed to get it off but cut my tongue doing it. My sister saw I was bleeding and thought it was my mouth so she sent me home -- we were waiting at the school bus stop which was right by my house -- but my mom didn't see any cut and the bleeding had stopped by then. I eventually noticed it myself but I never told anyone. I saw a new dentist for the first time a couple years ago and he noticed but assumed I must have cut it on something I ate and I was just like 'yup, must have been it.'
