I am a huge fan of his and I still agreee that there was nothing about this character that said "one true love forever." His character was a great "very memorable one-time love that she'll remember forever." But I don't really believe in true love forever that means a person can never love again anyway, and Wonder Woman is better than that, and Steve didn't seem like a character like that to me. And even if that kind of love existed, it would take more time to develop than Steve and Diane got.

All of this. You can love someone forever AND STILL fall in love and be happy with someone else, especially if that 'first love' is gone (or dead). I mean - 'pining away forever until you die' might sound like some kind of romance, but in reality it's sad and pointless.
