The Greta Van Helsing books are better at HOUSE BUT WITH MONSTERS - the main plot isn't great but there's a ton of background information about her job (human doctor to various supernatural beings) and things like 3D printing replacement bones for mummies and what antibiotics work on ghouls and how to do surgery on a vampire that are extremely interesting and cool.

Yeah, agree with all of this (and I kind of feel the author might actually be more interested in the world-building than the plot? Apart from the first one, which I thought was a decent story line, it feels a bit as if it's there to provide an excuse for more stuff about her job...).
