I thought the secret was pretty clear in the "go have fun! I don't care! But please stop fucking up the game for me!" I guess I was wrong. Sorry about the confusion.

Apology accepted, and it was fun wanking with you. :)

That Sephiroth story is terrible.

I call a lot of people kiddo. I'm actually nineteen, and could probably be considered a kid, myself. I didn't really mean to imply that you were a child, seriously. I am not so used to people taking everything I say seriously, since I don't take anything I say seriously.

Anyways, I'm not condescending towards roleplayers. Even the ones that want to whine about how other characters ruin their experience (that's like uh. A person talking about how seeing a certain type of couple on the street bothers them. It's just bothering you because you are making it that way), I'm not gonna insult their roleplaying, I'll just insult their bad attitude.

And that's the difference, really. When you're taking something so seriously that you're saying someone RUINS your time, you're insulting (on a strong level) the way somebody enjoys themselves. When I'm getting irritated at RP bullies, I'm insulting their attitude, not the way they do something that brings them joy or whatever in life.

1) I moved from G1 Transformers fandom to FFVII fandom. It was like whiplash. X_x I still the G1 fandom, though. (I still keep adding to the Great Rodimus Figure Collection. And will probably never stop putting my Rodimus figures in compromising positions with my Optimus figures, either. Mmm, mechslash.)

3) You can keep the strap on, but I wanna borrow the whip. :D

4) ......... not touching that with a ten-foot pole.

5) Okane ga Nai scares the fuck out of me. The art makes it look like a gangbang on a five-year-old, and that's just sick. x_X Not to mention the little uke there should be a shriveled-up dehydrated husk from how freakin' much he cries. Whatever happened to the concept of 'happy' sex?

7) He's kinda hot in a nerdy way, I'll admit. But i wouldn't hit it till the armor came off. That would hurt.

10) ....... again, not touching with ten-foot pole. Next!

11) If you're looking for a challenge, I have several doujinshi that I'm DYING to get translated! :D

12) Why does everyone assume that AC/DoC immediately kills the old canon? I just kind of look at it as an alternate-universe 'what if' scenario. I like OGC, i like AC, I like DoC for their own properties. Doesn't mean they nullify everything unless you're dead-set on letting them ruin your fun.

I didn't know the secret had been taken like that. I recently had a secret ranting about roleplayers kind of cause a lot of tension and annoying drama in a game I was in temporarily, so I was a bit on edge.

And if my Griffith was prancing around in a pik tutu I think I'd have Guts just slice him in half and go have interaction with someone else. But yes, I would be annoyed.

I definitely get the fact that people can be annoyed at OOCness. Hell, I've played a lot of 'crack' characters or villains that just have everyone making their character WAY too OOCly mean to them and abusing them or whatever, and it pisses me off. So yes, in that context I agree, and I agree rather XXXCOARly. I'm sorry for the confusion, I just took it the wrong way.

Because some RPers actually needlessly just want something to complain about and pick on others for no reason. Kind of like some random old lady not liking an interracial couple down the street or whatever.

I guess :( I should have been more specific. Sorry.

I totally took the secret in the wrong way. :[ Sorry. I really thought/assumed you were just being an RP bully, which is a lot different than someone being genuine about how bothered they are about IC interaction (especially if it is vital to the character they play).

The secret seemed pertinent or in some type of response to the backlash against secret 16 a couple of posts ago, so I assumed that it was defending those types of attacks. D: SHOULDNT HAVE ASSUMED.

[identity profile] ew-younerd.livejournal.com 2007-03-18 12:10 am (UTC)(link)
YEAH I WISH IT WAS ELABORATED SO I DIDNT GO JUST KILL A PUPPY FOR NO REASON :(

[identity profile] ew-younerd.livejournal.com 2007-03-18 12:12 am (UTC)(link)
Dude, I've played characters that hardly ever talk :( I wasn't saying they were bad RPers.

ALSO I KIND OF HOPE YOU ACTUALLY ARE A SPUNKY GRANDMA

PICS OR IT DIDNT HAPPEN

Some characters are just whipping boys for abuse. >\ LIKE WHEN I PLAY THE WONDERFUL AND SEXY MAITO GAI AND EVERYONE JUST WANTS TO COMMENT ON HOW UGLY HE IS EVERY TWO SECONDS. Hmph.

And if my Griffith was prancing around in a pik tutu I think I'd have Guts just slice him in half and go have interaction with someone else

EXACTLY! ME TOO! If I could! If that Griffith player wanted to do the tutu dancing, let Griffith go ahead and have his fun, but at least let my character go and be IC interacting with others. but sometimes the IC bonds are too strong that you can't ICly do that, and that's when... other people's OOCness does start affecting you (and you have to clean up their messes, as stated). And then if they say "lol u cant kill my character cuz i dont give u permission" and keep interacting with you in ways your character can't ICly ignore, then you're really stuck in a situation where you CAN'T ICly respond to anything. [livejournal.com profile] shahnichan's Sephiroth situation above is a good example of that.

I'm glad you agree though!

Oh, I can relate there. Nothing says 'wtf' like having people's characters start stalking yours out of the blue (and then having the muns stalk you outside of the game) because they think your characters are destined to be an OTP? Or being so OOC and so unfamiliar with the original canon that the character is almost unrecognizable? Yeah, I can get the frustration. (The Paine incident. Oh, the Paine incident. Even now my Reeve-muse runs screaming whenever I recall it.)

... I dunno who Gai is, but that icon scares me. XD It's like amine Groucho Marx.

[identity profile] liltigre.livejournal.com 2007-03-18 12:17 am (UTC)(link)
ANIME. I swear to God I can spell! Really!

(Anonymous) 2007-03-18 12:17 am (UTC)(link)
12) That's the way I see it too, but I just wish I didn't have to. :/ I mean, don't get me wrong; I discard the new Compilation stuff easily and don't feel pressured to include it in whatever fanworks I do, and I still love FFVII for what it is, but I just wish that instead of making such canon-inconsistent sequel/prequel stuff, Square-Enix had taken the opportunity to do something spectacular rather than mediocre. (Especially something mediocre that was pretty enough to screw over an already-dubious fandom. ._. And I don't mean that in an elitist way--if someone wants to go with the Compilation canon, I have no beef; I just take issue when they go with the Compilation canon without having played the original game.)

When people force you into OTPs...it is the scariest experience on earth. Ever.

4. I kinda understand your feelings, even though it's important to keep in mind not to get too serious for a RP, when people mess everything up IS frustrating.

6. Actually, I think Ouran is a very good show, though I watched a few eps and just HAD to stop, and I'm sorry for that, 'cause I enjoyed it very much :\ I couldn't stand the feeling of "OMG EVERYONE LOVES HARUHI", it was too much for me (I can't stand most romantic stuff...), but still I think it's a pity people won't give it a chance.

Re: 4:

(Anonymous) 2007-03-18 12:19 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, yes. What's even worse is if the character is canonly in a relationship with yours and you can't ignore that, either.

I think I said this already, but some people just suck. :(

Re: 4:

[identity profile] ew-younerd.livejournal.com 2007-03-18 12:20 am (UTC)(link)
Exactly. Guts and Griffith have probably the most vital and strongest bond in the series, so if someone was making Griffith incredibly OOC or trying to drastically change how Griffith feels about Guts, I probably would not be able to enjoy playing my characters as well as I could. So yeah, it really can ruin a few things for you. XD I totally took the secret the wrong way.

And that really does suck, because if you work hard on your muse and to get your character into an RP only to be stuck in a situation like that, well. Yeah. Your fun is out the window.
