12. I really wouldn't go so far as to calling AC a betrayal. Now, DoC? THAT was a betrayal. The whole Genesis thing? ALSO a betrayal. I'm... extreeeeeeeeeeemely under-informed about CC, but considering it apparently contains some shit about Genesis, I'll tentatively call it one as well. Waiting for it to come out first. And BC sort of pisses me off and fills me with phone-envy, as well as extreme irritation over all the damn Turks running around in that game and completely unrelated bad experiences with people RPing them which nonetheless impact my view of that game. Blame classical conditioning for that one. STILL, the point is that... really AC isn't that bad. I personally loved it, even with the improbable physics and plot holes which give me headaches to this day (YOU try and explain how the remnants came about/how the Reunion works/how the black water works/how Geostigma works to 4578327938247295 people WHILE trying to avoid repeating yourself/keeping it interesting/sounding like the whole damn thing's been scripted). So it... yes.

There is so very much more I could say, but I'll restrain myself... unless you WANT to hear more rambling, that is. DDD:

::Secret-maker.:: I actually honestly was referring to the Compilation as a whole, but I'm such a graphic-whore that when I tried putting in the BC and DoC logos, it didn't look good and I COULDN'T HANDLE IT. ;_; So I tried to cover it by saying "you guys" instead of "you" and... yeah, I'm a loser. XD;

But yeah, like. Although AC was kinda pointless, (IMHO; if you enjoyed it, that's cool), I don't really mind it and the future parts of DoC so much because you can always cut off your fan-version of FFVII at the end of the game, and no canon worries. (I made it the main graphic because 1-it's the first one that was announced, and I -died- when I heard about it, and 2-it's sort of the most famous part of the Compilation stuff and. I couldn't find a good graphic of the Compilation logo to use. D: And 3-...because it's what's brought in so many non-game-players into the fandom who write stuff without having played the game. I mean, I'm cool with new fans, but... I wish they'd do the proper research. :/)

BUT THE PREQUEL STUFF WHAT ohgod. ...I don't even know what Genesis is. I DON'T KNOW IF I WANT TO KNOW, but maybe I do. ;;

Pointless? Hm... yes. It really isn't a necessary part of the FFVII storyline, when you get right down to it, because the game was meant to be a self-contained... thing. I mean that no sequels or prequels were intended, so adding onto that when things were presumably already finished up WAS sort of pointless. But then, you see, when fans all over develop such a strong emotional attachment to the characters and the industry sees an opportunity to profit from that... to satisfy both those desires, it isn't very pointless at all. That empty space which consisted of fans' unfulfilled desires (or rather, didn't consist of fans' fulfilled desires, since saying an empty space consists of anything is a load of horse shit) led SE to the decision to create a problem in a universe in which all problems had been for the most part solved. You can understand this, can't you? I'm probably only telling things you know already, so this paragraph is also pointless. Sorry about that. |D;;

In an effort to move away from that and reach some form of coherent conclusion, HERE IS A NEW PARAGRAPH. Anyway. It's because of fans' desire for more FFVII shit that they keep screwing the canon over. It has gotten fucking ridiculous. WAIT, this is also shit you already know. WHY AM I SAYING THINGS YOU ALREADY KNOW?! I'll just say that I agree with you about the prequel shit and canon fucking all getting out of hand, AS WELL AS the non-game fans needing to do their damn research. Honestly, people that don't play games that they're writing for/RPing for/wtfever-ing for (drawing's different considering the fact that you don't need to know someones TWAGIC BACKSTORY to know what clothes they wear and so on) are on the top of my list of things that piss me off. They might not irritate you, but I have the strong desire to eviscerate them with a rusty spoon. So yes. I see where you're coming from.

My problem with Advent Children is its unfaithfulness to the spirit of the original game with its level of pretentious seriousness and incredibly unfunny humor.

One of these days, Tifa just needs to smack Cloud over the head and tell him to stop whining, 'cause seriously, she's been more than halfway there for the past... some number of years. Might as well hop to it. It'll build character or something.

I was just using that line in particular as an example, but I seriously can't stand the whole script of AC even when done with GOOD TRANSLATIONS. Like, even WITH Vincent Exposition Valentine and lolmarlene I still had no idea what was going on the whole time I first watched it.

I still don't really know what was going on, come to think of it 8D
