I'm getting back into an old fandom after some time out. I really like this ship on it (A/B), it's really helping me get through some stuff, but a more popular fandom ship (B/C) gets a lot of attention and references in the show.

I try to be cool with it, I'm happy for people who ship B/C, but it gets so much more attention and I stumble through so much "It's canon!!" it's starting to get a little too annoying.

Also: when I was out, there was this drama with one of the writers saying they write and see character A as a minor (??? really doesn't seem like it?) and character B as an adult. (nothing official, as far as I can tell. but nobody learns from JKR.) I really don't care about ship ages, especially in a ship that is so open to interpretation, but you can guess the drama that ensued, so now I'm a little afraid of talking about the ship openly too.

sorry, at the time I made this I felt a little ashamed because it's just a silly episodic cartoon. I don't really care now. It's Unikitty, it doesn't even have that much of a big fandom.

That's why I said it's so open to interpretation, it's literally two lego blocks. Which makes this sound very trivial, but needed the vent.

I kinda hate cartoon shows with the cheery premises for this reason, but I'm gonna be honest, i would just decide they're all kids, lol.

I'm sorry, OP. That sucks. I've been in similar situations where I quickly latch onto a pairing that is fandom unpopular, jossed by the creators, and/or has problematic elements. But I like what I like. *shrug*
