I thought it was interesting this interview I read that someone did with a professional domme who pointed out that cannibalistic-type fantasies aren't actually that uncommon and usually signify desire to be deeply part of another person (or vice versa).

But she pointed out that the way he ignored boundaries and pushed his fantasy on the women he was with regardless of their own desires was far more of a problem than any cannibalistic fantasies he might harbor. (Barring him actually, you know, eating people. We're assuming here the cannibalism stays in the realm of fantasy.)

AYRT Interesting to know! I am not into BDSM but I do know everyone has their kinks so when the DMs were released I didn't think too much. What business is it of mine to judge someone's private sex life?
I realized it was an abusive thing when an ex-girlfriend said he groomed her into the dom/sub "Daddy/Babygirl" relationship and how he would use them emotionally, physically and financially. Classic abusive behavior unfortunately.

I was reading through the leaked texts, thinking, it's gross and weird but not that bad. People must be blowing it up because he's a celebrity. Then I read on and realized, yup, it is that bad. I also saw the movie Don't Fuck with Cats that was referenced. Dude is sick.

Yeah, like, really, when you think about it, the conceptual distance between cannibalism kink and stuff like blood kink really isn't all that far

I read the same interview after finishing Rebecca - which was a bit of a disappointment - and I agree pretty much with everything she said. Like I can't take the idea that this guy might be dangerous because he legit wants to eat people seriously, but I sure can believe that he abused women and/or did not respect their boundaries.

sure cannabalism fantasies, but the dude allegedly had already pulled a khaleesi, and said "I am 100% a cannibal" so that domme trying to lower blowback on the bdsm communities by pretending this was just a fantasy and not an escalation and pretending that abusers can't operate with the same impunity in bdsm communities that they do everywhere else was actually very dismissive and shitty.

+1

This is one point I've seen others take issue with regarding this article. The idea that there's almost a casual dismissal of actual abuse going on. Others have taken issue that it was a professional within that community spoken to for the article (who of course is going to defend the community -- but there are abusive people everywhere so...), instead of a sex therapist, or a psychiatrist/psychologist. I think it would have been interesting to add this other take as well, because this man clearly has some issues he needs to work through.
