I just think he's really bad at the job. His only apparent qualifications are being muscly, and being decent at saying quippy snarky dialogue. That's just not a solid foundation to be an action star.

Absolutely not. Maybe like... Bruce Willis (who I also hate). But most action stars have some deeper kind of charisma, or some ability to give interesting performances or vibes, or some kind of credibility, or intensity, or something. And those are all parts of the action star performance Pratt doesn't really have.

Like, even Schwarzenegger who you could call the original muscles n quips guy - Arnold Schwarzenegger is a ridiculously charismatic human being on a scale Pratt can't come close to.

Honestly, that sounds like that's the very foundation of being an action star. At least, I don't expect anything too deep while watching an action movie.

I don't really watch Pratt in a lot of things, though, so I can take him or leave him.

Almost all movie starts start off Stupid, terrible, but pretty.

I dislike the guy. Even before I knew about the weird church stuff he rubbed me the wrong way. But your argument that he sucks because he doesn't have enough going for him is really reaching. I think you underestimate how valuable having a good sense of comedic delivery is for an actor, and I think you're failing to notice how many people find his performances funny and/or charming. I am not one of those people, but it's very clear that many such people exist.
