But the genetics in question didn't come from the Hanover line, as a quick scan of their Wikipedia entry will tell you. So yes that is what you were kinda implying.

Isn't it fascinating how you can misinterpret absolutely everything if you only try hard enough. Yes obviously that is exactly what they meant.

This is a deeply stupid attempt at a gotcha.

Obviously not all mental illness is the result of inbreeding. Some mental illness does have a hereditary component, however, and inbreeding - particularly over multiple generations, as occurred with British and European royalty - will both make those more prevalent within a family line, and will potentially result in more severe effects in later generations.

The Fanes had learning disabilities, not mental illness. Learn the difference.
