I'm not really sure what you'd call the "theme" here but when I finally got around to trying to watch Tangled, I started having panic attacks and flashbacks from the way her "mother" treated her, with the "oh the world outside is so terrible and dangerous and would destroy you if you ever stepped outside, so you see I'm so kind for keeping you nice and safe in here" thing. I could barely finish watching it, despite walking away every now and then to calm down.

Yeah, Tangled hit me hard too. But I was glad there were people on Rapunzel's side, and that they didn't try to pretend Gothel wasn't an asshole (well, outside of her own mind).
