Due to nostalgia, all music a person grew up listening to "holds up".

Absolutely not true

OP
ehhh....I mean I think that could be partially true, I listen to some songs and I recognize how corny they are and I still enjoy them. Hell I've been on an NYSNC roll the last few days and I did not realize how GOOD some of those songs are. Like I could imagine someone sampling a few of the songs (some are not very good, they even had a euro dance/house song on the first album that sounds as dated as you think a 96-98 eurodance house song would) However, in the example I'm giving (recognizing taste is subjective and all that), this album has some weaker songs (things I just roll my eyes to) but "Demolition Lovers" is an especially clean cut that I could imagine being a hit nowadays too.

Some of their songs/lyrics don't hold up as well (things that might have gotten a pass back then don't make such a clean getaway now). "Cubicles" hits a little different now that I work in an office lol

I am willing to disagree. I can listen objectively to some songs I enjoyed and go, ehh... this isn't my cup of tea anymore, no. Not that it's bad music but maybe it doesn't fit my mood anymore, or whatever.

But some songs aged like fine wine.

Sadly not.
