(Anonymous) 2021-01-28 02:49 am (UTC)(link)ehhh....I mean I think that could be partially true, I listen to some songs and I recognize how corny they are and I still enjoy them. Hell I've been on an NYSNC roll the last few days and I did not realize how GOOD some of those songs are. Like I could imagine someone sampling a few of the songs (some are not very good, they even had a euro dance/house song on the first album that sounds as dated as you think a 96-98 eurodance house song would) However, in the example I'm giving (recognizing taste is subjective and all that), this album has some weaker songs (things I just roll my eyes to) but "Demolition Lovers" is an especially clean cut that I could imagine being a hit nowadays too.
Some of their songs/lyrics don't hold up as well (things that might have gotten a pass back then don't make such a clean getaway now). "Cubicles" hits a little different now that I work in an office lol
