On my third book of the year, which is good going considering I felt like my motivation to read was shot toward the end of last year.

I've just started Mexican Gothic (not read enough yet to form an opinion) after finishing Things in Jars. I liked the setting and atmosphere of Things in Jars but there were a couple of things where it felt kinda throwaway and frustrating.

I read Pandora's Jar: Women in Greek Mythology at the start of the year and although it didn't tell me much new about the myths themselves, I loved how it related them to modern media like Star Trek, Beyonce and Buffy and it pointed out how female figures in Greek myths have been done dirty by male scholars for hundreds of years.
