Watched a few episodes way back and she annoyed me too and I suspect the reason is, I was a troublesome kid and she is like the kids my parents expected to have. Sigh. Came in expecting to love as I love Barakamon but

I can't imagine anyone thinking there's something 'wrong' with you if you don't particularly care for a 'cute kid' in a cartoon. It's...a cartoon.

I mean... even the cutest real kids are annoying sometimes, so that sounds pretty spot-on to me?

Sometimes getting it almost right is worse than getting it completely wrong. If it seems like they were trying to write a realistic kid and something about her was still not quite right, I'd be more annoyed too than at kid characters who are so precocious you can tell the writers are intentionally forgoing realism for "likability."
