I wonder if this author was DreamsofSpike...? I usually like h/c, but I remember reading through like 30 chapters of Blood Bound in one sitting, and then coming up for air and dropping it. It was unfinished at the time, and probably published up towards 60-70 chapters (out of the eventual 109), and when I halted my binge I realized that I wasn't enjoying how unrelenting the H in this h/c was.

OP here. That's the author. Some of it could be pretty hard on the hurt, but I think it kinda resonated with me as a teen with (at that point) yet-to-be-diagnosed depression.
In later fandoms I'm not that into the heaviest hurt.
